3 Steps To Take When Working On Yourself

Reading personal development books and watching inspirational videos is probably the easiest thing that you can do when you first get into personal development. All that information can turn out to be useless if you’re not taking any action. Here are 3 ways that you can take action and take charge on your own personal development journey.

Reflect

A good self-help book is filled with questions and a space for you to reflect on those questions in your head. There may be some valuable information that you may be missing or questions that you’ve ignored for years that you should be dealing with. It is in the reflection and in answering those questions that we can begin to become more self-aware of which areas of our lives that need to be worked on.

Reach out to people

It may be embarrassing to reach out to family and friends, especially if they still have work to do on themselves and in the age of Corona, it’s not always easy to go to networking events or a support group.

This is where the internet is your friend. In the beginning stages of my personal development I learned to turn to online Facebook groups and even the Instagram community as a source of inspiration. I was inspired by the countless men and women who shared their stories, their tips and advice for personal growth and transformation.

Once you take some time to observe and learn from the many people in these groups, try adding them as a friend or follower. Or even send them a quick message to ask for advice. You’d be surprised at what you can learn and how you’ll be able to accelerate your own growth

Slow down and pay attention to your thoughts

When you’re reading or watching something inspirational, make sure to do it S-L-O-W-L-Y! I recommend having a notebook with you so that you can take note of any thoughts that you have that may come up or perhaps even a memory. When we learn to slow, we can then begin to start growing and thriving.

These are just some of the ways to help you take action on your journey. If you haven’t taken any action, ask yourself, why?
